About HCH

Harry Harding
Shadow

HCH is the brainchild of Harry Harding, a drummer and multi-instrumentalist based in the south west of England. Harry specialises in drum kit and percussion but is also a producer, mix engineer, singer and songwriter for many other projects.  His contribution to the Southwest’s music scene has built him a strong reputation as an in-demand musician both live and in the studio.

Harry says:

“The aim of the studio is to create the perfect environment in which your music and creativity can thrive. We work entirely to your specification; if you’re not sure what you would like to hear or how you want your music to be interpreted, you can trust in the production experience gained through the work I’ve done over the years. Likewise if you have a strong sense of where you want your music to go, we can absolutely set off in that direction. No two recording sessions or processes are ever the same; and having spent so much time in so many different recording situations, I have a strong idea of what works when it comes to finding and creating the right flow. Often, the sounds and albums created in smaller studio setups connect much more with me than the stuff I’ve done in bigger studios. As long as the space is creative and inspiring, then the results will always be satisfying.”

Testimonial

Richard Wilkinson (Amy Winehouse, Adele, Laura Mvula, Paul Weller, Bombay Bicycle Club)

“Having worked with some of the worlds most accomplished and renowned artists and musicians, I can say with confidence that Harry Harding is one of a very small select group of players I’ve encountered that make my job as a Producer and Engineer thoroughly effortless.

Harry’s expertise across such a broad number of instruments and genres puts him in a rare position that he understands not just his role in the room, but the role and parts of every other musician he is playing alongside. The result is the rare scenario where a performer can entirely alter the entire outcome of a recording, taking the production to a whole new level. His communication and personality is excellent in an environment where ego’s can quickly cause upset to insecure performers. I can honestly count on one hand the number of musicians I trust to bring all the above to a session.

Harry’s ability to perform to any brief, from a tight pop track, to Jazz, to Heavy Rock means that no session phases him and whether I need him to keep his head down and play written parts or step up and offer suggestions, I know he will always deliver quickly and with confidence. Harry is my go to session Drummer and would not hesitate to recommend him.”
